From hydrating to hustling, let's talk priorities

Alrighty Reader

Let's talk priorities and time management.

I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to juggle everything. From nurturing leads and managing client projects to keeping up with any kind of consistent marketing to making sure you’re actually drinking water (but let's be honest, making sure we're hydrating as much as we are caffeinating!). All alongside making sure you have some semblance of a personal life, it’s hard.

As business owners we have essentially 2 (main) hats: Working on the business and working in the business.

Working on your business involves internal tasks that will grow and sustain your business.

Working in your business is all about serving your clients.

After all, you can't expect your business to thrive if you never invest in its growth.

Many of us get so caught up in client work that we neglect taking time to work on our business. We see the constantly growing to-do list, but rarely do we prioritize tackling them. 🥲

I'll be honest with you Reader, it's been a minute since I've done one, but a CEO Day is the first step towards tackling that list. (More recently I did a 48-hr workcation, which is basically CEO Day on steroroids).

Not familiar with a CEO Day? It’s basically the day or time you use to work on your business.

Now, I get it. You might be thinking, "I couldn't take a whole day — I've got too many client projects going", "is it really worth it?" Trust me, it is.

Just start small. Block off a couple hours once a week or once a month right now. You don't have to know right this second what you're going to do, but making a plan before the time will help you to just dive in. If you need a little help on things you could do, here's the top 4 I focused on (pre-baby) during my weekly CEO Day.

Because here's the truth: you can't expect to grow your business if you don't work on your business.

Whether it's a couple hours once a week, one day a month, prioritizing a CEO day is essential for the well-being and longevity of your business.

Til next time,

Liz
