Happy Sunday Reader!
As we start to start to get cozied up for fall, I wanted to share some reflections from these past few months that have been incredibly transformative for both me and my clients.
This summer, I was hit with my own unexpected interruption, and I’m so glad I was prepared before we had to make changes so I wasn’t trying to navigate life-proofing while it felt like everything was in chaos.
The quick version is, we received news that we were moving across the country with roughly six weeks’ notice. There was house-hunting, a week driving, a week closing, and moving out and into our new house.
And my business stayed stable and smooth with almost no interruptions.
The secret? 👉Well-honed systems and a capable team.
My clients also taught me invaluable lessons about flexibility this season. From unplanned family emergencies to well-deserved vacations, their businesses have also had both expected and unexpected interruptions.
I also assisted a client preparing for a 3-month maternity leave so she can enjoy her time with her baby without working.
So, here are some lessons in life-proofing your business:

Hey heyyy Reader, Recently I did an Implementensive® with a client who mentioned that they do custom projects for almost every client. AKA, each client gets something slightly different from them. It brought me back to thinking about how a lot of creative service providers like to offer custom packages, rather than have a hard and fast scope of work that everyone goes through. Keeping it loose and offering custom packages definitely gives you more wiggle room in what you offer, because you're...
I’m really excited about this, Reader! Have you ever taken a workcation? If not, let me tell you about them — they’re revolutionary, my friend!! But first, let me back up to how I got here… The other week I was talking to my therapist about being overwhelmed and having too many mental tabs open. I made a flippant comment about how if I could just have 48 hours to myself, I could get so much done and close out a stupid amount of mental tabs… know the feeling? You’re basically Charlie. ⬇️...
Happy Sunday, Reader! I’m coming in hot with some planning for you to do today. Admittedly, I love a good Sunday planning session. So, my question for you today is — have you planned out your schedule for the year yet? I don’t mean every detail, but the big things that are going to actually take you away from work. I’m talking about weddings, vacations, summer break for your kids, anything like that. Planning it now is how you’ll be able to set yourself up for the *right* amount of projects...
